Police Question
Man About Car-Theft Ring

Kansas City
police made a bust Thursday in a large auto-theft ring, KMBC's Peggy
Breit reported.
Officers on
Thursday raided a home on 55th Street near Parallel Parkway after
an investigation that began New Year's Eve. Police took one man
(pictured, left) into custody for questioning.
Police recovered snow blades, a trailer and stripped-down cars and
trucks they believe were stolen from various parts of the metro
area.
"We have evidence that they're stripping the cars, and may
have also been changing the VIN numbers and registering them in
Kansas City, Mo., and getting titles on them," said police
Capt. Ron Kaminski.
Officers believe only one car they recovered was stolen in Kansas
City, Kan. The rest were taken from Kansas City, Mo., and Johnson
County, Kan.
